The apostrophe's in the wrong place show I'm human
I’ve begun to celebrate (slightly) messy human writing.
Reading the newspaper, and noticing two words incorrectly adjoined by a missing space, I feel pleased.
If a piece of work is not perfectly structured, and balanced, with headings and sub headings, I don’t mind.
If a phrase seems slightly odd, or out of place, I smile.
If I see the words, “and that’s load bearing”, I frown.
I feel a little bit more free about:
- informality
- gramatical errors
- spelling errors
- capitilisation
- comma placement
- incorrect apostrophes
- odd phrasings
- local slang
- phonetic spelling
- repetition
- abbreviations
- missing spaces
- etc.
(That list probably isn’t perfect)
Previously, I’d post a message, notice an apostrophe in the wrong place, and edit it. Now I leave it.
